How to choose insoles for standing at work?

This selection includes comfort insoles, models advertised as orthopedic, air-cushioned insoles, heel cushions and protectors, as well as gel toe separators. It targets people who stand, walk or remain on their feet for long periods and wish to improve the contact between their foot and their work shoe.

Essential criteria for your support

  • Available volume: A thick insole can reduce space in the shoe. Check if the original insole can be removed and ensure enough room remains for your toes.
  • Desired comfort zone: General cushioning, sensitive heel, arch support or localized rubbing require different solutions. Choose based on the dominant discomfort.
  • Stability: An insole must lie flat without slipping or creasing. The heel must maintain stable support, especially in a safety shoe.
  • Compatibility: Check the size, possibility of trimming, and shape. An adhesive pad requires a clean surface; a separator must remain comfortable without compressing.

Full insole or targeted accessory?

For diffuse fatigue under the entire foot, start with a full insole adapted to the shoe's shape. Air cushions and resting models target cushioning during walking or standing. Heel pads are suitable for rubbing or a lack of local support, while gel separators address discomfort between the toes. A height-increasing model changes the support and available volume: test it gradually and ensure it does not destabilize the foot.

Installation, hygiene, and precautions

Install both insoles symmetrically and start with a short duration to assess the fit. Remove them regularly to air them out and follow the washing instructions. Replace compressed foam, a detached pad, or a surface that has become slippery.
