How to organize water recovery in the garden?

This collection combines three collapsible rain barrels from 200 to 750 L, a flexible tank up to 1,000 L, an IBC tank connector, two pumps, a hose reel, and a solar drip irrigation kit. It covers storage, transfer, and distribution to vegetable gardens, greenhouses, or flower beds.

The four decisions before installation

  • Volume: Estimate the irrigated area, frequency, and available space. A large full volume is very heavy: the ground must be stable, flat, and able to support it.
  • Collection: Check gutter connection, overflow, filter, and closure. An open or poorly protected tank promotes debris, mosquitoes, and overflows.
  • Transfer: Height, distance, flow rate, and pressure determine the necessary pump or gravity. Compare connections and diameters along the entire line.
  • Distribution: Drip irrigation, manual hose, and reel do not respond at the same pace. The solar kit is suitable for a compatible network and programming.

Which circuit for vegetable garden, greenhouse, or flower bed?

A small tank is sufficient for a balcony or a few plants, while a vegetable garden requires more reserves and reliable filling. The flexible tank facilitates seasonal storage in a protected location. The IBC connector adapts a compatible tank to the desired output. A 12 V pump integrates into a planned electrical system; the thermal pump is for more autonomous transfers and must operate outdoors with ventilation. To save water, distribute it slowly at the base of plants with a correctly sized kit.

Stability, water, and seasonal maintenance

Place the tanks on a flat base, secure them against tipping, and organize the overflow away from foundations. Recovered water is not potable without appropriate treatment; reserve it for authorized uses. Protect pumps against dry running, frost, and dirt according to their instructions.
